Caring Places is an Ontario-based organization that provides affordable and subsidized living

We are a provider of Lodging and Meal Service for persons needing assistance with Daily Living Skills.

Typically our residents are from a background of Mental Illness, Brain Injury, Developmental Health, or simply needing assistance with Daily Living Skills , including seniors. We also take persons with physical limitations, but while we accept persons with walkers, we are not wheelchair accessible.

Apart from providing room and board , we offer snacks, and activities. Supervision is 24/7, and we provide medication distribution. Social Service agencies are available to assist residents, as are PSW’s to assist those needing assistance with cleaning and grooming care.

Our three homes are located in York Region, Ontario, Canada, and some of our residents have been with us over 20 years!!

Management Caring Places

Caring Places is an initiative and under management of John Gaspar. John has been active in the field of Special Care for the past 15 years, as an owner of several residential facilities including Homes for Special Care and Domiciliary Homes.

He began with owning several rooming houses in Ottawa and purchased his first Dormitory Home in 1985. In 1991, John purchased his first Home for Special Care, in Newmarket and purchased several other properties like Parkview Manor, Botsford Place and Sunnybrook Home.

John has a great deal of experience with persons with mental illness, persons with drug addictions and criminal backgrounds, and alcohol abusers. Everyone is given a chance to improve themselves and grow to their potential. John spends most of his time managing all homes, coaching and assisting residents and staff, as required. He is also an active member of many local social committees.
